Mother Earth

I want to touch the whole of Mother Earth
To feel her under my feet and between my toes
To be caressed by her warmth and feel her frigidity climb up my spine
A shiver that quakes my whole form as I gaze upon her majesty
It is an honor to walk amongst the trees
Hear their prayers and heed their words
I wish to worship where the land meets the sea and let my soul soar in the sky on the wings of mighty beast
To frolic in her fields and meadows
To hear the laughter of love dancing on her winds
I want to know Mother Earth
To feel her pain and bask in her joy
I want to study her with reverence and write prose befitting of her splendor and wrath
I want to know that I was here
That I felt the soil fall through my fingers and embedded between my toes
I want to leave no trace aside from the hymns tattooed upon my heart, coursing through my veins... ...sending praise beyond the four corners of my temporary slice of this life
I want to touch the whole of Mother Earth and hear her say
Welcome home, my child.
